I start school tomorrow. It's an on-line class (english 101) and the teacher finally opened up the class sometime this afternoon. I went through & read the syllabus & the course documents. I think that i'll like her - even w/out the ratings posted on http://www.ratemyprofessors.com. Which is, by the way, a nifty website.

Speaking of websites, another one that I frequent way more then is probably good for me is http://kingdomofloathing.com. Go there. Really.
And when you're done w/ that, poke around on this website: http://pop.shinketsu.net/index.php. That's a compendium of the pop-culture references so far cataloged from the kingdom of loathing (KOL) universe. My favorites are the They Might Be Giants references. Mostly, because I had just started playing & didn't know what was going on & encountered a "hovering Sombrero" & was just endlessly amused.

It is, by the way, TOTALLY FREE. So go. Learn. Play. And then get obsessed. :)

I have so much random crap that i need to do. That I *should* do. Also, that I've said that I'll do for MONTHS now & just haven't gotten around to. ((I'm sorry mom. As soon as the month-end stuff is over I'll order that stuff!)) I know how to best spend my energy. But...

Somehow, I still find other distractions. I realized this week that I think I'm a groupie. I actually contemplated -gasp- taking a day off work, & then driving to *portland* to hear this local band play. Turns out that I was misreading the events calender I was using, & they don't actually /have/ any portland shows - so it never came down to actually making that choice - but I was thinking of it.
The band, in case you're interested is The Divorce. They just released an album "the Gifted Program". That is their second album, so that makes me an uber-sheep for jumping on after they've been around for years. but hey. I don't *think* they're on MTV yet, so it's not like I'm into them just 'cus they're trendy. (tho, if they are on MTV, that still applies because I neither have cable, or watch TV.)

Hmm. I work tomorrow. Somehow I'm MUCH more excited about the fact that at midnight (just an hour!) the teacher will 'unlock' the first week documents on the class website.... I don't think I'll still be on-line at that point. But. School. I'm gonna do good this time. And I fully plan on maintaining my 4.0 GPA. At least as closely as I can. (yeah, I'm serious. My GPA is at 4.0. But the only classes I've taken have been art classes.)
